Her Smile

24 Jan

she’s broken down, she needs a meal
she’s worried that she’s worn away her sex appeal
so many men, so many helping hands
for what she wants she never needs to make demands
there’s nothing that her smile can’t seem to find

she needs some love, some tender care
but where she looks there’s hardly any ever there
but substitutes for filling time
with sad tequila sun downs, salty tears and lime
there’s nothing that her smile can’t seem to find

for daughter’s shame, for father’s guilt
for all the years of lies in the house of glass they built
for rivalry she’ll share her bed
for all of her neurosis when it rears its ugly head
there’s nothing that her smile can’t seem to find
